  • For the first 1-3 days, the skin will feel dry and tight. Frequent use of post-session topical will help alleviate this.

  • After 2-3 days patients can return to regular skin care or as soon as it is comfortable to do so.

  • Avoid alcohol-based toners for 10-14 days

  • Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 10 days if possible. When exposed to the sun, always use sun cream SPF30 or above. Do not apply chemical sun cream on the same day as treatment. Only use approved physical defense sunscreen.

  • The use of an Antioxidant Cocktail serum will promote healing and assist in soothing the skin and further irritation.

  • Micro-needling serves to stimulate the production of collagen than normal to recover optimally. Collagen-stimulating peptides assist in that process, further aiding in the stimulation of collagen production.

  • It is important to stay hydrated before and after the procedure to help the skin heal and rejuvenate faster.

  • Gently exfoliate the skin after 3-5 days to remove the flaky dead skin that commonly forms after treatment.

  • DO NOT apply spray tanning or fake tanning creams for 2-3 weeks after treatment. Oral supplements can help benefit the skin and improve the treatment- Omega 3, Zinc, Vitamin C, and glucosamine.

  • What is the price?
The price £950 includes: Starter kit, homecare kit, pre peel treatment, cosmelan treatment, follow up consultations. Additional products will need to be purchased throughout the 12-month protocol to maintain results.
  • Is the treatment painful?
You may feel a tingling sensation, but this treatment should not hurt you or cause you any pain. If you feel uncomfortable during the treatment, please let our therapist know, and they will stop the treatment.
  • How long is the downtime?
Two to three days after the treatment is applied, the skin will begin to flake, crack and peel. For these first few days, the face may feel tight, itch, and be slightly red and swollen. It is possible to continue to peel for the next four weeks post treatment, we can help you manage dry and sensitive skin on the protocol.
  • What is the Cosmelan peel?
Cosmelan is a two-step, topical, cosmetic treatment that’s designed to reduce and to regulate stubborn and dense pigmentation, as well as blotchiness. Its special blend of ingredients is said to be the safest and most effective treatment for a more even skin tone, resulting in the bleaching of undesirable skin pigments.
  • What are the ingredients of the herbal peel?
There are 8 key ingredients which consist of Horsetail, Witch Hazel, Ginseng, Fenugreek, Spirulina, Nettle, Aloe Vera and Ribwort
  • How can I prepare for the herbal peel?
We would advise you to not exfoliate your skin 1-2 weeks before booking a herbal peel with us. If you are currently using any products with retinol or strong acids please stop using them for at least 3 weeks before doing a herbal peel with us. If you are currently on Roaccutane you will need to wait 6 months before having a herbal peel as well.
  • How is it different from a chemical peel?
The herbal peel is completely natural and works from within to help heal the skin rather than through a controlled burn like a chemical burn.
  • What is the downtime?
You can expect the downtime to be anywhere between 5-7 days.
  • How many sessions will I need?
On average, clients need between 3-6 sessions. However, this can vary from client to client depending on your skin concern. Our therapist at Queens Laser will assess your skin and recommend a tailored treatment plan for you.
  • How does laser hair removal work?
A beam of light passes through the skin to the intended target. The target for hair removal is the melanin, present in all hair follicles. The melanin absorbs this light, disabling or impeding the hair’s regrowth.
  • Does laser hair removal work on all hair?
Laser hair removal works on both facial and body hair, including large areas like the legs & back. The laser targets the dark pigment present in some hairs but is not effective on blonde, white, grey or extremely fine hair.
  • Can you get laser done whilst pregnant?
Laser hair removal is safe but there are no long-term studies that analyse the effects of laser hair removal on unborn children. For this reason, we will refuse treatment. If you have had one treatment and later found out you were pregnant you have nothing to worry about. Your sessions are saved until you come back.
  • How many treatments are needed?
Facial/body hair is treated once every 4-6 weeks. We recommend a course of 6-12 treatments, but it could be more as this varies from person to person, until you see a satisfactory result. You will need maintenance sessions once or twice annually. Individual results vary and this will be discussed on your consultation appointment.
  • Is the consultation free?
The consultation booking service cost £20 and is non-refundable however it is redeemable against any laser hair treatment you have with us within 3 months. If you have any medical conditions, it's advisable to email us beforehand to avoid the booking fee in case you're deemed unsuitable.
  • Can laser hair removal reduce ingrown hairs?
It certainly can! We are experts in diminishing ingrowing hairs and have worked on many cases. Ingrown hair commonly shows up in areas of the body that have been shaved or waxed. They’re caused when the hair is broken off unevenly with a sharp tip. With laser hair removal, clients have less of a chance of getting ingrown hair because they are not shaving or waxing. The change in hair texture reduces the chance of having ingrown hairs even more. We get to the ‘root’ of the problem literally!
  • I’ve had a patch test in another clinic, why do I need another one?
Besides having a patch test being a legal requirement, a consultation is important because it helps put you at ease. Laser is a long process and can last over 12 months. It is important you understand what to expect through your laser journey. One size does not fit all and we would like to learn more about your skin history, medical background, and skin type to determine your treatment plan. Some people may feel nervous or even embarrassed so you get the sense of how we do things at Queens laser. Our consultations are just a friendly chat with no pushy sales jargon! We don’t ask you to sign any deals Etc. We simply give you information and then allow you the time you need to decide.
  • Will shaving my hair make it thicker?
Many people think that shaving causes your hair to grow back thicker. This is false. It’s biologically impossible for hair to grow back thicker because of shaving. If this was true, we would all have lovely thick head hair and hair transplants would not be so popular! Shaving hair will not change its thickness or colour.
  • What are the possible side effects?
Most common side effects of laser hair removal include skin irritation, temporary discomfort, redness and swelling. Any signs and symptoms typically disappear within several hours.
  • Is laser hair removal uncomfortable or even painful?
You may experience a small but manageable sensation that we describe as a pinch or a zap when we pulse the laser. Most of our clients who previously received waxing report that the discomfort is less when using laser hair removal treatments. We have cooling devices to cool the skin to help reduce discomfort.
  • Is laser hair removal considered permanent?
Laser hair removal is permanent hair reduction. Laser hair removal is the most effective way to have long term hair reduction and is permanent as it gets. Usually if there is no regrowth, this is considered a permanent result. You should achieve about 75% – 95 or more of hair reduction. If something changes hormonally or medically, this may alter the results of your laser hair removal.
  • How many sessions are needed?
On average 3-6 sessions are needed, however our therapist will have a thorough consultation to examine your skin and discuss tailored treatment plan with you.
  • How does micro-needling work?
By creating tiny, microscopic holes into the skin’s surface using 13 fine needles, which lightly vibrate at different depths on the skin’s surface. This action alone triggers a healing response to help scars, marks, and blemishes. It also creates channels to administer active ingredients for other concerns.
  • What skin care products do you use with micro-needling?
We recommend our clients to use pharmaceutical brands alongside microneedling as they are medical grade products. Our therapist will prescribe you with a tailored treatment plan and suggest the pre and post products depending on your skin concern.
  • When can I see results?
Results can be seen 2 week post treatment and the pigment will continue to lighten gradually. The skin will appear lighter and improve the texture by 4 weeks.
  • Is it painful?
The treatment isn’t painful however some clients may experience a tingling sensation.
  • How many treatments are needed?
It typically takes one one dermamelan intimate peel to see results.
  • Can i have intimate relations post treatment?
Intimate relations can commence 48hours after treatment (homecare to be applied AFTER to avoid cross infection)
  • What causes pigmentation?
The causes of hyperpigmentation can be triggered by hormonal changes, aging, tight clothing, waxing, shaving, and certain medical conditions or medicines.
  • Ive had the Dermamlen treatment, when can i continue my laser hair removal sessions?
If you need you an area to be lasered after having the treatment your homecare product will need to be stopped 24 hours prior and then reintroduced after the skin has recovered, this typically takes 2-5 days. We recommend you wait 45 days after you finish your home care gel to commence your laser hair treatment.
  • When can I apply deodorant after the Dermamalen treatment on my underarms?
Deodorant should not be applied before or after the application of home cream. Only use deodorant in the morning
  • Whats included in my treatment?
Dermamlen intimate in clinic peel, post home care cream and cleanser. An additional home care cream can be purchased for stubborn pigmentation to use after 45 days.
  • What is the cost?
Our price for Dermamlen intimate is £950 per area. For two areas such as underarms and intimate area the price is discounted £1600 The 3 popular areas are underarms, inner thighs and bikini area.
  • I am currently having laser hair removal, when can i have the Dermamelan peel?
You can have the peel 3 DAYS after your laser hair removal session. Shave 72 hours prior (3 days) Waxing 72 hours prior (3 days)
  • What is the downtime?
Skin redness and feeling of being sunburnt might occur for the first 2 days. Flaking usually appears around day 3 and can proceed for up to one week. Once the flaking subsides you will start to notice improvement of the pigmentation and for further improvement and maintenance, you will be required to continue Dermamelan homecare. Initially, when using your maintenance creams, the skin will feel sensitive, tight and may continue flaking; this usually subsides after about 2 weeks.
